Overview

EUGREENEXT chair develops:
1. Teaching and training, attentive to the prospective job demand. EUGREENEXT teaching activities have a multidisciplinary character embracing both legal protection and aspects from other disciplines.
2. Dedicated research, on Green Law issues in the European Union, with collaboration from different actors of other scientific sectors, to develop a wide range of outputs (database, book, sections in scientific journal).
3. Dissemination, to stimulate discussion in civil society on Green Rights themes related issues targeting, stakeholders and policy makers at the national and European level.

Teaching

EUGREENEXT‘s teaching on “European Green Rights”:

  • is embedded in the official curricula of the Università degli Studi Suor Orsola
    Benincasa for students in  Green economy, Management and Sustainability and for other undergraduate and graduate students.
  • consists of 180 hours frontal lectures per year. Each year the course is focused on specific topics (The Right to Health and Sustainability, The Right to Environment and Sustainability, The Rights for Nature and Animals and Sustainability)
  • includes a 42 hours Summer School on “Green Markets and Sustainability in a digital age” in the second a.y. 2022/2023
  • stimulates student’s knowledge, critical thinking and awareness also by encouraging the students’ participation (optional) to workshops and seminars
Research

The Chair promotes research through:

  • scientific articles published during the lifetime of the project in Leading International Journals on Green Law, as well as on the Project’s website, after the peer review process
  • a book, freely available online, containing the results of the teaching and research activities of the Chair, achieved during the three-year of the project.
  • an open-access database (composed of all the relevant EU legislative, literature and case-law materials related to the teaching activities).
  • a dedicated section on Green Law in the scientific journal European Journal of Privacy Law & Technologies.
Dissemination

EUGREENEXT organizes seminars and workshops  (also in the form of webinars)  in the first and third year of the project, in order to:

  • spread debate on the topics of the Chair
  • enhance Green Law promoting and discussing the design of rights in specific areas
  • involve distinguished national and international scholars, experts and keynote speakers
  • encourage young scholars, PhD candidates, experts to respond to a widely accessible call for papers
Target Group

Target groups of the teaching course are the students of Economics and Law of University of Naples
Suor Orsola Benincasa and students from other Departments (Phycology, Tourism and Science of
Primary Education).
The activities of the Chairs involve LLM and Ph.D. candidates, scholars, civil society, institutional
representatives, policy-makers at local, regional and national level, and media representatives.
